Janet's House

Kingdom Impact provides regular support for Janet's House, a small orphanage housing nine children in Lilongwe. It was established by Lesita Banda with a legacy from a young Scottish woman called Janet and is named in her memory.

Our support for Janet's House

We provide ongoing support for this work through monthly contributions which help to feed and clothe the resident children, pay for staff to care for them etc.  As funds allow we are looking to provide additional support for education and occupational training for teenagers. Long term we are seeking to make Janet's House self-sustaining.

Generous donations in memory of Sylvia Crosby, who sadly passed away suddenly in April 2023, have enabled us to build a new library, study and art room  at Janet’s House. This will be a valuable addition to the orphanage, allowing a dedicated space for children to read, study and express their creativity, and a lasting memorial to a wonderful woman who loved art, books and the children of Malawi.

Sylvia was the sister of Janet Robertson, whose legacy began the work at the house named after her.
